Our Story
Stamps Backpackers was founded by two long-term travelers who set out to build the kind of social hostel they always wished existed. After years of exploring Southeast Asia and beyond, they designed Stamps around three things: connection, comfort, and local knowledge. Today, Stamps is known for its friendly atmosphere, unique pod-style dorms, nightly activities, and a team of English-speaking local experts who help guests experience Chiang Mai like insiders.

Several team members have backgrounds in guiding, tourism, and hospitality, and together they help guests plan safe, memorable day trips and local adventures. The focus is always the same: creating a welcoming, community-driven space where travelers quickly feel at home.

Stamps Backpackers sits just outside the Old City’s northeast corner — an easy 8-minute walk to Phae Gate, temples, cafés, bars, and Chiang Mai’s best street food. The area is safe, central, and surrounded by transport options, scooter rentals, and local markets.

Stamps introduced Chiang Mai’s first semi-private pod-style dorms, giving guests the comfort of a private room with the social vibe of a hostel. Each pod includes curtains, outlets, shelves, a light, and oversized lockers. All dorms, fan and AC, include modern Western bathrooms, strong WiFi, and clean, well-maintained common areas.
